After a long hot summer anybody who knows San Carlos knows that October is the Cambio de Clima. As the humidity goes away the North Westerly winds arrive, which give us kite boarders in San Carlos a perfect side shore breeze and world class kite boarding conditions at La Manga and Algodones. You can kite in summer time when the wind is out of the south but October kiting means no wetsuit is needed since air and water temperatures are perfect. We are a slingshot dealer for kite gear. Slingshot gear is completely bomb proof and a slingshot kite will probably last you twice as long as most other brands of kites. The learning curve is fast with the sport. I taught Ines the basics of how to kite board last Abril. In about 5 hours of instruction she was capable of flying a four line kite, body dragging through the water and being able to stand up on the board. All in 5 hours of instruction on 4 different trips to the beach over a period of two weeks. So imagine how fast you can learn if you focus on learning and spend several days in succession practicing. We call it zero to hero and most able bodied persons can learn how to kite board and stay up wind within a week if you dedicate sufficient time and energy.
